seediq 40cm Rechargeable Picture Light Review: Cordless Art Lighting for $33.99? (Honest)
Picture lights used to mean an electrician, a drilled wall, and a $200 lamp. This rechargeable picture light from seediq skips all three. The 40cm cordless bar costs $33.99 on AliExpress, sticks above your artwork, and runs on a rechargeable battery with a remote in your hand.
For this review I read the listing’s full buyer record: 108 verified ratings averaging 4.8 stars, with 900+ units sold. Remarkably, I could not find a single complaint in any readable review. The flaws here live in the listing itself, not the lamp, and I will show you both — including the one variant you should never order.
The short version: The seediq picture light washes your artwork in dimmable light from warm 3000K to daylight 6500K. Its 4400mAh battery charges over USB-C, and the remote handles brightness, colour, and a timer. Buyers call it beautiful, sturdy, and easy to install. Branded US equivalents cost $99 to $999, which makes $33.99 the easiest value call of this review.
Best for: Anyone with art, photos, or a gallery wall and no desire to hire an electrician.
The seediq picture light is a 40cm rechargeable picture light sold on AliExpress for $33.99. Its built-in 4400mAh battery powers dimmable LEDs from 3000K to 6500K, controlled by an infrared remote or a touch switch. It mounts above artwork on an included base plate, with no wiring.
The format explains the product’s sudden popularity. Traditional picture lights are wired, so most people simply never install one. A battery bar changes the calculation completely. You charge it like a phone, mount it once, and charge it again weeks later.
Consequently, renters love this category most. There is no drilling into wiring and no landlord to consult. The seediq also tilts its shade up to 160 degrees, so you can angle the wash of light exactly across the canvas.
Who Sells It? The seediq Store Check
The seller is the seediq Official Store, a lighting specialist open since December 2022. Full honesty: its positive feedback score is 94.7%, which sits a shade under the 95% bar I usually require. I included this product anyway, and I will tell you exactly why.
The listing’s own buyer record is the cleanest I have audited on AliExpress. All 108 ratings come from verified purchases of this exact item, with no borrowed reviews. Buyers left 28 photo ratings, and the praise concentrates on quality, looks, and easy installation. When the product-level evidence is this strong, it outweighs a 0.3-point store average.
Features — In Detail
Battery and Charging
Inside the bar sits a 4400mAh battery, charged over USB-C with the included cable. A full charge takes at most four hours, using any phone charger you already own. No wall brick is included, which is normal for this category.
The seller claims up to 14 hours of runtime. However, no buyer review confirms or denies that figure, so I report it as a claim, not a fact. Runtime also depends heavily on brightness. My bonus guide below explains the dimming habit that stretches it furthest.
Remote Dimming and Colour Control
The infrared remote adjusts brightness steplessly and shifts the colour temperature from 3000K to 6500K. Warm settings flatter oil paintings and gold frames. Cooler settings suit photographs and modern prints. A timer function lets the light switch itself off, which saves the battery overnight.
A touch switch on the lamp itself handles simple on and off. One thing is absent, though: there is no motion sensor. If you expected the light to wake as you approach, this model will not do that.
Mounting — and the Unanswered Question
The lamp mounts on an included base plate, and buyers repeatedly call installation easy. The shade tilts 160 degrees, and the body is aluminium with a plastic diffuser. So far, so clear.
Yet the listing never states whether the plate fixes with screws or adhesive. That single omission matters to renters most of all. My advice is simple: have both options ready, and check the plate when it arrives before planning the wall.
What’s in the Box
The merchant’s own pack list names four items: one lamp, one USB Type-C cable, one remote control, and one mounting base plate. Nothing else is promised. Notably, no screws or adhesive strips are named either, which reinforces the mounting advice above.
Pricing, Shipping and the Real Cost
The standard black version costs $33.99, against a listed anchor of $108.54. The gold version costs $39.58, and buyers single out its brass finish as genuinely beautiful. Both ship from the same fast pool with free delivery.
Now the warning this section exists for. Two further variants, labelled B–Gold ($45.39) and B–Black ($40.49), are actually a different gooseneck design, and the listing never explains the label. Worse, B–Black ships on a slow pool arriving between November 20 and December 6. Order the standard black or gold, and avoid B–Black entirely.
For value context, US stores sell this exact format from about $34 at the budget end to $999 for designer brands. Pooky charges $210 and Pottery Barn $249 for comparable cordless bars. The seediq matches their core specification — battery, dimming, remote — at a fraction of the price.

Who Should Buy This Picture Light?
Best For
Buy it if: You have artwork, family photos, or a gallery wall that deserves proper light. You rent, or simply refuse to pay an electrician for a lamp. You like warm, dimmable light you control from the sofa. And you choose the black or gold version.
Not For
Skip it if: You need motion-activated lighting. You want a verified 14-hour runtime before buying. Your frames are much wider than 60cm, where one 40cm bar runs short. Or slow-variant confusion worries you and you cannot double-check your selection.
seediq vs the Alternatives
vs Branded US Picture Lights ($99–$999)
Brands like Pooky, Vakkerlight, and Pottery Barn sell beautiful cordless picture lights. Their prices start around $99 and climb past $900 for designer names. The seediq matches the format, the battery size class, and the remote dimming, for $33.99. What you give up is brand support and showroom finish, not the core function.
vs Other AliExpress Picture Lights
Sibling listings of this same lamp sell at $40.19, and near-identical units reach $51.93. Cheaper flexible-arm versions exist around $25, with thinner buyer records to match. The seediq sits mid-pack on price while holding the cleanest review record of the group. That combination is precisely why it earned this review.
vs Wired Picture Lights
A wired light never needs charging and shines indefinitely. It also needs an outlet in exactly the right place, or an electrician to create one. For most homes, that installation cost dwarfs the lamp itself. The battery bar trades a monthly top-up charge for total placement freedom.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the seediq picture light legit or a scam?
It is legit. The listing shows 900+ units sold and 108 verified ratings averaging 4.8 stars, every one from this seller’s own buyers. I found no complaints in any readable review. Buyer protection and free 90-day returns cover your order in any case.
How long does the battery really last?
The seller claims up to 14 hours from the 4400mAh battery. No buyer review confirms that number, so treat it as a best-case figure at low brightness. At gallery brightness with the timer used nightly, expect to recharge every few evenings. Dimming to 70% looks nearly identical on the wall and stretches runtime considerably.
Which variant should I buy?
Buy the standard black at $33.99, or the gold at $39.58 if the brass look suits your frames. Avoid the B–Black variant: it is a different gooseneck design on a far slower shipping pool, arriving as late as December 6. The listing never explains its B– label at all.
How does it attach to the wall?
It mounts on an included base plate, and buyers call installation easy. However, the listing never states whether the plate uses screws or adhesive, and neither is named in the box contents. Have both ready when it arrives. The shade then tilts up to 160 degrees for aiming the light.
Does it have a motion sensor?
No. The specifications state plainly that it is not a smart device. You switch it with the touch control on the lamp or the included infrared remote, which also sets brightness, colour temperature, and a timer. If walk-by automatic lighting is your goal, this is the wrong product.
What size frame does a 40cm bar suit?
The seller rates its lighting area at one to three square metres. In practice, a 40cm bar lights frames up to about 60cm wide evenly. Wider artwork wants a second bar or a larger model. The bonus guide above includes the placement distances that make the light look even.
seediq Rechargeable Picture Light Review: Final Verdict — Worth $33.99?
Buy it if: You want gallery lighting without wiring, you pick the black or gold version, and $33.99 against $99-plus US equivalents decides it.
Skip it if: You need a motion sensor, a guaranteed runtime figure, or mounting hardware confirmed before you order.
✍️ My Personal Verdict
Most AliExpress audits end with me listing what buyers disliked. This one genuinely broke that pattern: 108 verified ratings, praise stacked on quality and looks, and not one complaint I could find. My reservations target the listing, not the lamp — an unexplained variant label, one slow shipping trap, an unnamed mounting method, and a runtime nobody has verified. The store’s 94.7% score sits just under my usual bar, and I have said so openly rather than hiding it. None of that dents the core deal. At $33.99, this is the most convincing picture light I have seen under $100, and it is not close.
Remember, the free Placement & Charging Quick Guide above is yours to download either way.
